Dad is not doing well

21:17

The latest word is that Dad has had a rough few days. I’ve been here, 100 miles away, working and doing what he requested. He didn’t want us to take separate vehicles, and he didn’t want us to miss work, but said he’d reimburse either one of us for staying with him; and then he insisted we both went home. I’ve been in touch only by phone. We need to be with our Dad. Why would someone give you a hard time about that? Well … with this summer’s history, I’m sure, I have to not be at work. And, every reason legit.

Excuse me … I’m going tomorrow to be with my dad and take control. Fire me. Dad comes before anything.

    Hi Julie
Go be with your dad tomorrow. I think you need him as much as he needs you. Godspeed. You’re a wonderful daughter.
I’m in my early 50’s, but have sure enjoyed reading your diary and also keeping up with your life in hillbilly land as you called it. I have some cousins from that neck of the woods. I live in the Soutwest and love it out here.
So sorry you lost your sister recently. I lost mine a few years ago and still miss her so very much. Life can be hard!!!
    God Bless your dear dad.

    Julie…
I think you’ve made the right decision in being with your father…
You don’t have to justify that with anyone but yourself..
Your priority’s are where they should be.
I’ll send some prayers your way…
    Take care of yourself.

    Julie,
I agree with Peggy. When my mother was terminally ill, my boss told me that i needed to “leave life outside in the parking lot” and not let it affect my work.

I should have told her to pound sand, spent as much time with Mom as I could have, and worried about whether or not my job was there, IF and when I went back. I know i can’t change the past, but…

My prayers are with you and your family.
    -Jean
